Bachelor of Fine Arts, INTERIOR DESIGN

Cozy and warm, demonstrative and bold. These are just a few ways to describe the look and feel of a room or office when designing the right environment for a client. If you have always had the desire to express yourself through color, patterns, and textures to create an atmosphere, then our Interior Design program awaits you.

Begin with a great foundation in basic rendering and perspective. Then, build your aesthetic and technical problem-solving skills, and discover the differences between designing for architectural firms, retail stores, hotels, and restaurants. You will also learn how to maintain accurate records, write contracts, and work successfully with wholesalers in the industry.

If you already possess your own creative blueprint, now is the time to map out an attainable career goal. With all the hands-on training and quality instruction you will receive, upon graduation, you will be prepared for entry-level opportunities and possess a portfolio you can showcase to any prospective employers.

In 2004, the Interior Design Program at Miami International University of Art & Design earned accreditation from the Foundation for Interior Design Education Research (FIDER). (146 Monroe Center NW, Suite 1318 Grand Rapids, MI 49503-2822 Phone: 616.458.0400 Email: fider@fider.org)
