Fabrica Creaton, Restaurant Design by Minas Kosmidis

A restaurant design themed on meat – we introduce to you the Fabrica Creaton designed by Minas Kosmidis located in Komotini, Northern Greece. This is a modern tavern that follows a black and white contrast providing a perfect atmosphere for the bold red to float at the background. These accents play around the theme of the restaurant hence its name – Fabrica Creaton as well as the ideas of a Butcher Shop.

This beautiful restaurant has two stories with floors clad of mild gray tiles and walls that are white ceramic tiled. On the corners of the room are bold black band rims that emphasize the design pretty well and the ceiling plane allowed smooth and clear transition for the exposed wood beamed ceiling.

Here, we are looking at a design that plays on ideas of the late 1950s – the classic tavern but we cannot deny the modernity oozing from each of its corner. We can see the modern supplies, support, furniture and fixtures. However, the materials utilized in the project are timeless and each material speaks concisely about its purpose in the design specifically the glass, tiles, wood and metals. Against these materials, we can find the pendant light fixtures that bring another dimension of fun and vigor to the place. It demonstrates the classic Greek skirt where its waistline is the red accent found on the ceiling plane.

The seat cushions are upholstered in black and red gingham attracts attention beyond the alluring table setting and providing a break from the sleek backdrop.

Since lighting is always an important element in any design – we found that it was smartly utilized here in this amazing restaurant. The pendant lights mentioned above are utilized to provide pleasantry to the eye and create subtle movements without compromising on its primary function – to provide ambience and lighting to the entire restaurant interiors. We notice however that other sources of light are invisible such as the staggered down-lights that provide spotlight to the artwork and also exposing the subtle texture created by the mounted tiles.

The industrial fixtures are also red accents providing an impeccable contrast to the black and white scheme as well as the shape and style of the place. The bar stools and dining chairs are varied, which are then added into the mixture allowing for more complexity yet perfect harmony in the design.
