The Zmianatematu coffee shop is located in Łódź, Poland, and was designed by XM3 architecture studio. This outstanding space was created with a tight budget, mainly using plywood and exposed concrete.
The goal was to create a place to host artistic and cultural events for the young creatives of the city. Light bulbs dangle from the cave-like ceiling, shelves were built between the wood layers, and a long bench emerges from the end of the bar.
‘We decided to leave it as raw as it was possible, while creating a blob-like form,’ says xm3′s design team. ‘The alien wooden form creeps through the inside of the building, dividing the space into functional areas.’
