Antonia Hutt clearly remembers the day when, at age thirteen, she walked into the Norman Foster-designed Sainsbury Centre in England’s East Anglia, one of the family’s regular architecture-viewing trips led by her historian father. “All the hair on my arms stood on end,” Hutt remembers. “It was a sort of awakening, being moved by the light and the form that was around me. I’d never had that before. I strive to do that in my work.”

Antonia Hutt was born in London and educated at Bedales in Hampshire, England - a school renowed for its emphasis on the Arts. At nineteen, after one year of studying Fine Art in Siena, Italy, she went to the Sir John Cass School in London to work towards her first degree in Jewelry, Silversmithing, and Allied Crafts. Her love for fine decorative objects led her to form a business purchasing perior antiques from all over Europe. After one of her buying trips to Los Angeles in 1988, she decided to open her own antiques shop on Melrose Place. Her accumulation of knowledge in the decorative arts led her to study what she believes to be the ultimate art form - Interior Architecture. Upon completion of the FIDER approved four - year Interior Architectural program at UCLA, she was immediately commissioned for work, Antonia’s continued success led to the opening of her own firm in Los Angeles where she currnetly works and resides. Her continued passion for the Arts recently lead her back to UCLA, where she and Rose Tarlow taught “Advanced Residential Design - A Master Class” together.

Antonia’s understand of the exceptional and her love for refinement continue to be the core of her design philosophy. Through years of practice, experience, and instinctual good taste, she has become a top leader in the design world.

I believe that a house should have a color scheme. Although the interior is very well set out and the furniture is beautiful, the walls are absolutely discusting as no other rooms match
